At the beginning of the 20th century, the colonial era brought many Indian eating habits to the Netherlands. In the fifties, Chinese/Indian food received a strong growth impulse due to the return of large groups of Dutch people from Indonesia. Conimex is the market leader in Asian products in the Netherlands. To this day, many commodities are imported directly from countries in Southeast Asia such as Indonesia, China and Thailand.
